Nantes...Paris...Berlin...

Born in Nantes, France, bass-bariton Eric Beillevaire has built his reputation singing in various opera houses and festivals in his home country and since 2008 also in Germany.

He appeared at the Staatstheater Stuttgart (Rasche's "30. september"), at the Staatstheater Cottbus (Drago, Schumann's "Genoveva"), at the Staatstheater Osnabrück, at the Konzerthaus Berlin (Händel/Messias, Puccini/Messa di Gloria, Mendelssohn/Elias), at the Philarmonie Berlin (Durufle, Requiem), at the Konzerthaus Frankfurt/Oder, with the Berliner Kammeroper ("Gloria von Jaxtberg", "Bremer Freiheit"), at the Berliner Volksbühne (Rasche's "Seestücke"), at the Summer Festival in Gut-Immling, Bavaria together with the Münchner Symphoniker (Carmen, Zuniga), at the Admiralspalast Berlin, with the Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin...

His opera repertoire also includes Mephisto/ Gounod's Faust, Figaro/Nozze, Leporello/Don Giovanni,... and many roles from modern operas.

Éric Beillevaire is very active on the concert stage : he sang in the world premiere of Kaspar’s "Les cris de Paris" with soloists from the Orchestre Lamoureux in Paris (2005), in Ziegel’s "Tombeaux Romains" with the "Presence" Radio-France Festival (2004) and in Campo’s "Blasons amoureux" at the Villa Medici in Rome with Les jeunes Solistes (2003). Mozart’s Requiem led him to the famous Église de la Madeleine in Paris (2006), Rossini’s "Messe Solennelle" brought him to the Parisian Choeur Horizon (2006), Haydn’s "Schöpfung" took place in 2000, and Schubert’s "Schwanengesang" took him once again to the Auditorium de Saint-Maur (2007). Since 2000 Éric Beillevaire has regularly appeared at the Festival de Clairac, singing Puccini’s "Messa di Gloria", Stravinsky’s "Les Noces", Bach’s "Matthäus-Passion" and Janácek’s "Amarus" as well as Kodaly’s "Te Deum" and Mozart’s "Vesp. sol. de Confessore".

His concert repertoire also includes songs by Fauré, Dukas, Gounod and Poulenc, Verdi’s "Requiem", Berlioz’s "L'enfance du Christ", Händel’s "Messiah" and various cantatas by Bach.

He received his musical education at the Université François Rabelais in Tours, at the Conservatoire National de Région de Tours and then at Saint Maur des Fossés with Prof. Yves Sotin, in private lessons in London with Prof. David Pollard and in master classes by Robin Bowman, Nadine Denize, Teresa Berganza and Duncan Macfarland.

He taught voice at the Conservatoire National de Région de Saint-Maur des Fossés and the Conservatoire du Kremlin-Bicêtre. He presently teaches French repertoire at the Hochschule für Musik Berlin.

Eric Beillevaire is musical director of the MConsort and artistic director of the summer festival of Puycelsi (south west France).
